CEDAR DHX dehisser

CEDAR Audio has announced a new version of the auto-dehiss algorithm that forms the core of the DHX dehisser.

Just nine months after its launch in September 1997, the DHX has been upgraded to remove noise more effectively in the presence of high amplitude transients and artificially enhanced dynamic ranges. The improved algorithm was developed as a direct response to the requirements of customers working with modern forms of dance and rock music.

Careful testing at CEDAR's in-house restoration studio - Cambridge Sound Restoration - has shown that the new algorithm - version 1.02 - offers improvements for all types of speech and music restoration. The new software is included in all Series X dehissers from serial number DHX-1-01775 onwards. Owners of existing units may return them to CEDAR Audio or to their local dealers for a free upgrade.
