10 August 2009

CEDAR Audio has sponsored and attended the IAFPA (International Association for Forensic Phonetics and Acoustics) Conference 2009.

Organised by the Cambridge University Department of Linguistics and held from 2 - 5 August 2009 at Newnham College, the conference topics included (amongst many others) the impact of GSM transmission on automatic measurements of formant frequencies, the effects of alcohol and drugs on articulation, the influence of voice disguise on speech characteristics, and many aspects of automatic speaker recognition and voice identification.

Gordon Reid, Managing Director of CEDAR said, "We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to contribute to the IAFPA Conference and to demonstrate CEDAR's capabilities in the field of audio forensics to the attendees, some of whom are already users of our CEDAR Cambridge and DNS systems. This is an increasingly important field of audio, and the IAFPA helps to ensure that research is vibrant and that progress is maintained. We look forward to a long association with them."
