CEDAR Audio is delighted to announce that the CEDAR DNS3000 dialogue noise suppressor has won a CAS Award as the outstanding product in post production in 2009.
The Cinema Audio Society said this about its Annual Technical Awards: "The Cinema Audio Society is proud to announce the winners for the 5th Annual Award for Technical Achievement. Two awards were presented this year, one for an outstanding product used in production and another for post-production. Initial submissions for the Tech Award were solicited from the general membership of the CAS. The products include both hardware and software in use by sound mixing professionals."
The award was received on CEDAR's behalf by re-recording mixer Gary C. Bourgeois of Sony Pictures at the ceremony on Saturday, February 14, 2009, which was held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
The DNS3000 is the latest generation of CEDAR's Dialogue Noise Suppression technology, combining the tactile control surface of the DNS1500 with the Pro Tools integration of the DNS2000, plus much more. Additional features include on-board scenes with a simple and intuitive recall system, automation to LTC timecode, moving faders and sample rates up to 96kHz. As before, the hardware provides the processing power and audio I/O, and near-zero latency continues to ensure that there is no loss of lip-sync. With CEDAR's Academy Award® winning DNS algorithm at its core, the DNS3000 eliminates all manner of noises from recordings and live transmissions.
The CAS consists of over 550 Sound Mixers and Associates from the Film and Television Industries. It was founded to create a proper channel of communication between the related sound crafts and between those instrumental to the production and distribution of film and television soundtracks.
