The DNS3000 is the latest generation of CEDAR's Dialogue Noise Suppression technology, combining the tactile control surface of the DNS1500 with the Pro Tools integration of the DNS2000, plus much more. Additional features include on-board scenes with a simple and intuitive recall system, automation to LTC timecode, moving faders and sample rates up to 96kHz. As before, the hardware provides the processing power and audio I/O, and near-zero latency continues to ensure that there is no loss of lip-sync. With CEDAR's Academy Award® winning DNS algorithm at its core, the DNS3000 eliminates all manner of noises from recordings and live transmissions.
The DNS3000 is an automated implementation of our DNS technology. Connected to its Mac- or Windows XP- based Pro Tools host using an Ethernet cable, the DNS3000 processor provides the I/O for the system and will handle two independent channels simultaneously.
It offers a huge amount of floating-point power and performs all the audio processing in real-time, thus freeing up the host computer's CPU for other tasks.
The DNS3000 Remote Control Software is an RTAS plug-in that runs on Pro Tools HD and LE, and M-Powered systems. It provides a fast and intuitive user-interface based on CEDAR's DNS1500 dynamic noise suppressor, itself a standard for post, dubbing and audio forensic applications. The software controls all aspects of the DNS3000, and automates its operating parameters. Furthermore, it is capable of driving up to 126 individual DNS3000 processor units, thus making it more than adequate for the largest studio and post installations. This makes the DNS3000 ideal for use in all studio environments, and especially in post-production for film, TV and video.

In February 2005, the ©Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences® honoured CEDAR's Engineering Directors, Dr Christopher Hicks and Mr Dave Betts, with a Technical Achievement Award for the design and implementation of the CEDAR DNS1000. A studio standard for eliminating background noises such as traffic and air conditioning, the CEDAR DNS1000 had already won SSAIRA and PAR Awards in 2000 and 2001, and was nominated for a TEC Award in 2001.
