OverviewThe audio world has changed. Surround systems with six or eight channels are becoming commonplace, as are 24-bit, 96kHz processing and replay systems. These have increased the need for a wider range of audio tools capable of cleaning up everything ranging from the earliest recordings to the live broadcasts being transmitted today. CEDAR Cambridge™ gives you the power to address all of these problems. CEDAR Cambridge V5.1 represents another significant update to the system, Improved timecode reading and timecode generation, Variable speed playback , recording capabilities with the option to synchronise to external timecode, WAV file support with RF64 read/write, embedded BEXT chunk metadata handling and a BEXT metadata generator and editor. This means that you can now choose CEDAR Cambridge V5.1 as your ingestion system; loading, classifying and processing the audio without recourse to any other equipment apart from your input and monitoring systems. There's also a range of improvements in the File Processor and core software, all of which ensure that CEDAR Cambridge remains the most powerful restoration system yet developed, capable of removing more noise - and more types of noise - than any other. The CEDAR Cambridge 'Q' hardware
Taking advantage of the latest computer technology, the Cambridge 'Q' host PC represents a significant step forward for CEDAR Cambridge.
With up to four processing cores (dual- dual-core Athlon processors) this offers more than double the processing power of previous hardware revisions. The increase in power is of particular benefit to users who take advantage of the system's multi-channel and batch processing capabilities. It will also be a boon for audio forensic investigators, because it makes it possible to use high bandwidth adaptive filters with significantly longer filter lengths, resulting in improved noise suppression and increased intelligibility.
The dedicated timecode reader ensures that processed audio always remains aligned to video, so that CEDAR Cambridge will work in harmony with any audio or video workstation. It also provides facilities for full automation of all CEDAR Cambridge processing parameters.
There are a growing family of CEDAR Cambridge processing modules. These are applicable in all areas of audio, and we offer configured systems for film soundtrack restoration and post (the CEDAR Cambridge Film System), audio restoration for CD and DVD (the CEDAR Cambridge Mastering System), two for audio forensic investigation (the CEDAR Cambridge Forensic Systems), and the CEDAR Cambridge Server.
