Sound Lounge: Using CEDAR for indies and documentaries

Weapons still

8 March 2007

Post magazine, January 2007:

In a special feature on Audio for Indies & Docs, Post interviewed Tony Volante, who heads up longform post at New York-based studio, Sound Lounge, and was heavily involved in the production of Weapons, a film about violent youth culture that appeared at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2007.

In the interview, Volante discussed how CEDAR can be of huge assistance when producing films and documentaries on a tight budget, and the benefits of using CEDAR when posting Weapons. He explained, "The CEDAR [DNS] box is great, especially on low budget films and documentaries where production sound has to be hurried along and maybe they aren't able to get the best quality in any particular take."

Volante also uses a suite of CEDAR plug-ins on his Pro Tools systems and often uses CEDAR Tools to remove background noise from indie projects.
