CEDAR Deutschland will be attending this year's GPEC Convention, showcasing the latest CEDAR Cambridge Server™ workstation. With background and batch processing now added, this is ideal for cleaning the huge quantities of material obtained while conducting audio surveillance. The system on demonstration will host a full range of powerful forensic audio enhancement processes, including advanced adaptive filtering systems, broadband noise reduction systems, debuzzers, declippers, and very high-quality EQs and dynamics packages. For the first time in a forensic exhibition, we will also be showing the DNS3000. This is the latest generation of CEDAR's Dialogue Noise Suppression technology, designed for quick and intuitive noise reduction in the field and the laboratory.

GPEC (the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference) is Europe's leading trade fair devoted exclusively to members of authorities using police equipment, security technologies and related services. It takes place every two years and, although being based in Europe, it is officially certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce as a U.S. Commercial Service Certified Trade Fair.
Forensic audio is the application of audio technology to the areas of criminal and civil law, security, and other matters of public interest. We can trace its beginnings to WWII, when it became important to be able to identify and understand voices broadcast by radio. This was when the spectrogram, or "voiceprint" was first developed.
The field has developed rapidly in the past twenty years, and digital technology has made possible techniques that were almost unimaginable in the middle of the 20th century. Systems based on these techniques are now in routine use worldwide, and are no longer the preserve of government agencies and military forces. Smaller legal organisations and forces use forensic audio systems on a daily basis, while other industries to benefit from such products include avionics and air traffic control.
